Marketing Should Move Business Forward
This page highlights results I have achieved from a selection of clients. In each case, I developed the plan and carried out most, if not all, of the work involved. That included content, design, paid advertising, websites, events and more.

For some clients, the priority was building visibility and demand. For others, we found that marketing was not the only thing affecting growth. Capacity, sales follow-up or customer experience also needed attention.

More marketing is not always the answer. Sometimes a company needs to rethink what it is doing, stop spending money on work that is not helping and rebuild in a better direction. Inspired Marketing and Photography has had to do that too.
Not every failure is bad. Sometimes it makes room to rebuild and grow in the right direction.

Here is what happened
Meet Paige
I’ve worked in marketing for more than 35 years, and I still enjoy it. I like figuring out how to help businesses grow, and I’m innately intrigued by the human behavior behind a sale. People are not formulas. Each person is unique and brings their own experiences to the way they see a product or service. Those experiences shape their decisions, which means there is always something new to figure out.

I went to school for business and earned my marketing degree from Cal State Fullerton. I started as an entry-level assistant and worked my way up to vice president. My career has included manufacturing, motorsports and retail, which is an odd but useful combination. In 2013, I started Inspired Marketing and Photography so I could bring that experience directly to my own clients and help them grow.

Over the years, I have built marketing departments from the ground up for my clients, developed plans, directed teams and vendors, and done much of the hands-on work myself. I carried the marketing for their businesses, and I was also part of their teams. I understand the work from the perspective of leadership, the internal team and the outside vendor.

Working at every level inside organizations big and small, for-profit and nonprofit, taught me that marketing does not operate by itself. A late delivery, a snowstorm in Chicago, missed sales follow-up, a poor customer experience or a PR nightmare can undo good marketing. What happens throughout the business eventually affects what customers see and believe.

The examples below represent only a small part of my work. The work was different for each one, but it produced results and client relationships that lasted.

Building the Marketing Function
When I joined EPI as its contract marketing director, the company had a website, a brochure, business cards and employees making calls to find new business. That was essentially its marketing program.

I was brought in to create a marketing program for EPI, increase its visibility and help the company grow. The program also needed to improve employee communication and create more interest in the company. I developed the plan around EPI’s goals and built it over time, handling both the direction and much of the work myself.

The marketing department I developed eventually extended beyond bringing in new business. It included employee loyalty programs and internal communications, different programs for clients based on their needs and how they used EPI’s services, sales materials and other marketing promotions.
Building EPI’s Marketing Program
I developed the strategy and built EPI’s marketing system piece by piece, connecting external marketing with business development, client engagement and employee communication.

-
Directing the development of a new website
-
Implementing SEO and earning top organic search rankings
-
Creating programs for existing clients and prospective customers
-
Developing EPI’s trade-show program
-
Speaking for the company at a major industry event
-
Helping create customer-appreciation programs
-
Creating employee training, recognition and appreciation programs
-
Writing and designing the marketing and communication materials the company needed

The marketing department grew into a connected marketing function where none had previously existed. I worked with EPI for eight years, building and running its marketing program as the company grew from one location to five in three states.
What Changed
Cover the eight-year growth, multiple locations, larger clients and increased market visibility.

20% SALES GROWTH
25% PROFIT INCREASE
At Desiccare, I worked on repositioning the company’s consumer products and helped develop Safe ’N Dry as a distinct consumer brand. That included product development, packaging, market positioning, launch planning and building relationships that put the products in front of new customers and retailers.
The work helped expand the company into consumer markets, with products ultimately reaching retailers and partners including The Container Store, Snapware, Field & Stream, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Winchester.
During that period, broader strategic planning at the company contributed to 20% sales growth and a 25% increase in profits over two years.

Paige serves as the outside marketing director for our restaurant. She handles our promotions, creates our marketing materials and guides our promotional efforts. She also participates in our events so she can capture what is happening and use it in future promotions. She really is part of our team.

Her work for Sports Nut Pizza has included planning promotions and events, including our big 10th-anniversary celebration, creating and managing our advertising, securing and coordinating sponsorships with local sports teams, managing our social media, producing professional photography and helping guide and carry out our marketing inside the restaurant.

Paige really is an essential part of our business. She helps us with the strategy, planning and ideas, but she also helps get everything done. She gets us to think ahead and create a plan instead of simply reacting in the moment. She understands our brand, our customers and the Norco community, and she is always willing to tell me honestly what she thinks.

Paige sees the big picture, handles the details and follows through. I trust her with our marketing and know she genuinely cares about our success.

Paige is a brilliant Marketing Director. She sees opportunities where others do not. I brought Paige into EPI to build our marketing department from the ground up, and that is exactly what she did.

Paige reported to me as Director of Operations and also worked directly with our president and vice president. We all relied on her for different marketing projects. She handled our digital marketing, SEO, email campaigns and social media, represented EPI in our international peer group and spoke about digital marketing on our behalf at FSN’s annual meeting.

When Paige joined EPI, we had one location and were doing approximately $7 million in annual sales. Over the eight years she was with us, EPI expanded to multiple locations, began working with much larger clients and grew to more than $25 million in annual sales.

Many people contributed to that growth, but Paige elevated EPI in the market, opened doors and spread the word about our company. I cannot imagine we would have grown nearly as much without her talent.
